This special property offers close proximity to endless outdoor activities (skiing, biking, boating, hiking, off road trails, etc.). Among the most popular, world class fishing and whitewater rafting only a few steps off your private deck.
Over a 100 years ago the homesteading family had many options in the Gunnison Valley. It's no wonder they chose this area early on, considered by many locals to be one of the best properties in the county. The Adobe House was originally built in the 1920s as a fishing camp and artist getaway. Tucked away on an acre at the end of a private road surrounded by National Forest, it's a unique natural reserve type setting. This provides your own secluded world of outdoor enjoyment. The bordering National Forest land gives exclusive easy access to over a mile of additional fishable river and countless miles of hiking not easily accessible to the public. As part of the Almont Triangle big game range, you'll see wildlife in the area such as big horn sheep, elk, deer, bald eagles, and much more. You'll quickly find this location and access to these amenities are unique to the property giving you a mountain getaway that will take you back a century in time.
Today, it's a short walk to Three Rivers Resort and The Almont Resort offering two restaurants with bars and great food. They also provide services such as fly fishing supplies, white water rafting, various outfitting and guided tours, as well as a small store providing popular provisions. A free bus in front of the Almont Resort will take you to Gunnison and Crested Butte which are both about ~15 minutes away (downloadable app to track bus location available). Enjoy all the restaurants, shopping, and recreation that both Crested Butte and Gunnison have to offer. Pay less to play there while retreating back to your peaceful and private land and bungalow on the river.

Guest Stay 8/25/19-8/30/19 "The property was fabulous! We had an excellent time. Being able to raft the lower Taylor and take out in the back yard, then just jump on the raft the next morning to do part of the Gunnison was so much fun. The privacy, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and cleanliness were our Pros when deciding if we were going to book again next year, which we have already done. We utilized the fire pit almost every night and really enjoyed the area. There is only one thing I would recommend. All four of us who stayed their, at one point or another, almost tripped on the step going down to the patio from the 3 foot landing outside the door. I think you don't really see it especially if you are looking at the great scenery!! A one inch white painted stripe on the upper step I think would help this situation!" Vicki
