The house has two levels. There are 3 bedrooms (1 king and 2 queens) with two full baths on the main floor. One of the living rooms has a double hide-a-bed that can be made up to sleep another 1-2 people. The basement contains a spacious "bunk house" with 2 queen over queen bunk beds for a total of 4 queen beds which sleep up to eight. The basement also has a full bathroom and an additional double vanity sink outside of the full bathroom and living area. It's a perfect getaway space for large groups, kids and adults alike. The heated garage serves as a game room with a pool table and ping pong table, fun for everyone! The homeowner has recently updated the internet service at this home and it now has an increased bandwidth of 200MB. This will allow up to 20 guests to be streaming data at the same time!
The spectacular seasons at The Bighorn Ranch offer one of a kind views of nature and a wide range of wildlife right from your deck. Big Horn Sheep (Ram) herds are regular visitors to the property, hence the name "Big Horn" Ranch. Elk, deer, mountain goats, eagles, foxes, and more frequent the property. In addition, The Bighorn Ranch borders national forest land which provides even more privacy and unique private access for hiking and endless exploration. Bring your binoculars!
This property's private river access includes a large pool area on the river. It fills up with a Kokanee salmon run in the Fall. Trout fill the pool year round along with several pristine spots all along the home's private river access.
The spacious deck is perfect for a BBQ with an oversized Weber natural gas grill, plenty of seating and magnificent views. The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked. The oversized island with seating and dining table flows with the home's vast open floor plan. It's perfect to spread out and entertain, all while feeling the ambiance of a rustic mountain retreat.
The driveway can fit up to 2 full size RV's and the property itself has lots of space for any recreational toy you want to bring. There's plenty of room to park and maneuver around.
The Bighorn Ranch is in the heart of Almont. Directly located at the intersection of the Taylor, East and Gunnison Rivers, the location hosts world class outdoor recreation. Three Rivers Resort, located directly on the other side of the Taylor River, is a short walk. It offers rafting, an outdoor restaurant & bar in the summer, popular provisions, shopping, outfitting, a fly shop, and an array of additional outdoor entertainment and custom offerings. Various rafting float trips are available including guided fishing, a Garlic Mike's Restaurant float trip and white-water rafting for all experience levels. The historic Almont Resort next door offers a fly fishing shop, horse sleigh rides in the winter, a unique year-round tasty restaurant/bar that has been around since the 1800's. Guest Stay 8/14/20-8/22/20 "We were centrally located for riding our side by sides. We had room for our trucks/trailers. Plenty of room. The place was really clean and had everything we were looking for. Drinking a beer on the porch or playing pool in the garage. Very stylish. The property manager was very polite and prompt on her email communication responses. The 9 kids in our group enjoyed the double queen bunk beds, living room, bathroom, and TV area downstairs. Upstairs were 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 was an en suite), and a pull out couch. The kitchen was large with a big center island. The garage was nice to put things inside that we didn't want to leave outside or drag into the house. We had 2 trucks with trailers and 2 SUV's and we had plenty of room to park. We enjoyed the campfire pit outside along with the already stacked firewood available. There were starter rolls of toilet paper and paper towels, along with dish soap and washing machine detergent. There were 2 sets of washer/dryer available. We didn't use the gas BBQ grill, but it was available. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the "private waterfront" was steep and not easy to get to with the weeds. We did find one path that lead down to the water with a bench to sit on. The kids were hoping to go fishing and catch things in the river with nets, but we couldn't get close enough to do that.
