The one of a kind, historic, "Almont Adobe House!"  Located riverfront with private fishing and National Forest access, only 15 minutes to both Crested Butte and Gunnison.

This must try experience of the Adobe House is new to the market this year!  Updates to the home have allowed for all the modern amenities while preserving the home's Native American authenticity.  This special property offers close proximity to endless outdoor activities (skiing, biking, boating, hiking, off road trails, etc.).  Among the most popular, world class fishing and whitewater rafting only a few steps off your private deck.

Over a 100 years ago the homesteading family had many options in the Gunnison Valley.  It's no wonder they chose this area early on, considered by many locals to be one of the best properties in the county.  The Adobe House was originally built in the 1920s as a fishing camp and artist getaway.  Tucked away on an acre at the end of a private road surrounded by National Forest, it's a unique natural reserve type setting.  This provides your own secluded world of outdoor enjoyment.  The bordering National Forest land  gives exclusive easy access to over a mile of additional fishable river and countless miles of hiking not easily accessible to the public.  As part of the Almont Triangle big game range, you'll see wildlife in the area such as big horn sheep, elk, deer, bald eagles, and much more.  You'll quickly find this location and access to these amenities are unique to the property giving you a mountain getaway that will take you back a century in time.

Today, it's a short walk to Three Rivers Resort and The Almont Resort offering two restaurants with bars and great food. They also provide services such as fly fishing supplies, white water rafting, various outfitting and guided tours, as well as a small store providing popular provisions.  A free bus in front of the Almont Resort will take you to Gunnison and Crested Butte which are both about ~15 minutes away (downloadable app to track bus location available).  Enjoy all the restaurants, shopping, and recreation that both Crested Butte and Gunnison have to offer.  Pay less to play there while retreating back to your peaceful and private land and bungalow on the river.

This home has 3 bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms. The first two bedrooms (2) having King beds and the third room has a (1) Bunk bed that is a double on the bottom and twin bed on top!  The third bedroom is currently waiting for the installation of a sliding barn door, so right now it only has a sheet for privacy from the living room. This homeowner has also recently upgraded his internet service to 60MB.

Guest Stay 6/2/22-6/6/22 "Great location" Tracy Guest Stay 5/28/22-5/31/22 "Wonderful experience, I will definitely be back!" Amanda Guest Stay 5/4/22-5/8/22 Our 2nd stay. A place you'd like to own as a cabin in the country/mountains. Has everything you need without being an over the top "model home" type of place. You can relax here and enjoy the area and the river. Half way between Gunni & CB. I recommend. Hope you consider this one. Brian Guest Stay 4/14/22-4/19/22 The weather was great and the views were super from the house and yard. We will return in the future for sure. Thanks, Ron Ron Guest Stay 2/26/22-3/4/22 "Was great place to stay ! We skied monarch and crested butte ! Beautiful place and lots of wildlife all around!" Keith Guest Stay 12/23/21-12/27/21 "We loved the charm of this comfortable little home. Interested in coming back and trying it again in the summer. It was warm and cozy and we so enjoyed the bighorn sheep every day. Our family had rented a home in Crested Butte, and we had record snowfall during our visit so it was a bit far to travel back-and-forth on a daily basis when there was so much snow. If weather had been better and roads clear it wouldn’t have felt so far. The short little road into the property was a little scary in the dark with a lot of snow but it added to the adventure. We also really appreciated it being dog friendly. This is the perfect spot for someone who’s looking for charming coziness. Rental agency was responsive and helpful with any questions. This property is a unique little gem!" Kristi Guest Stay 8/20/21-8/27/21 "Excellent Location for fishing." James Guest Stay 7/11/21-7/16/21 "Fabulous" Luann Guest Stay 8/26/20-8/30/20 "We had such a great time at this little adobe. It was so clean and comfortable. We worked from there for a few days and enjoyed hiking nearby. The deck was so relaxing to sit on with our wine and listen to the river. Would definitely stay here again." Debbie Guest Stay 7/20/20-7/23/20 "Loved the location and the accommodations. Will definitely make this a repeat event!" Nil Guest Stay 8/25/19-8/30/19 "The property was fabulous! We had an excellent time. Being able to raft the lower Taylor and take out in the back yard, then just jump on the raft the next morning to do part of the Gunnison was so much fun. The privacy, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and cleanliness were our Pros when deciding if we were going to book again next year, which we have already done. We utilized the fire pit almost every night and really enjoyed the area. There is only one thing I would recommend. All four of us who stayed their, at one point or another, almost tripped on the step going down to the patio from the 3 foot landing outside the door. I think you don't really see it especially if you are looking at the great scenery!! A one inch white painted stripe on the upper step I think would help this situation!" Vicki
